Beer and B Movies: Episode 33 - My Bloody Valentine (1981)
Friday Aug 13, 2021
Friday Aug 13, 2021
This week on the podcast: My Bloody Valentine, with Strawberry Rhubarb Wheat from @riverridgebrewing. An overlooked slasher (in our opinion), this Canadian film set in a sleepy mining town tells a bleak tale of cannibalism, insanity, revenge and Moosehead Beer. We paired it up with a bright, fruity, refreshing wheat beer generously provided by River Ridge Brewing, set along the Mississippi River in beautiful Bellevue, Iowa.

Friday Jul 02, 2021
Friday Jul 02, 2021
We needed a huge beer to pair with this one, and we found it in Mill-pocalypse Belgian Quad, from Millstream Brewing Company, who generously sponsored this episode. Sergio Leone's directorial debut is a sword and sandals romp starring Rory Calhoun. There are some great set pieces, a lot of intrigue and more than a couple unintentional laughs. Join us.

Something new is going down for the Beer and B-Movies Podcast. This Wednesday we're releasing the first in a series of podcasts dedicated to specific genres/styles of B-Movies, to be released on the last Wednesday of the month. Our regular episodes will continue as usual, but we thought it'd be a good time to talk about the genres that dominate the B-Movie universe. First up, #filmnoir, with a Stout tasting from Samuel Smith Brewery, Bell's Brewery, Artisanal Brew Works, and Great Divide Brewing.

Beer and B Movies: Episode 28 - Kansas City Confidential (1952)
Friday Jun 18, 2021
Friday Jun 18, 2021
This Saturday Kansas City Confidential, with Tank 7 Saison, from Boulevard Brewing Company. While not the most famous film noir, this tight, tough, well paced film is one of the most influential. Shady characters, frame jobs, and a clever heist help this classic hum along at a brisk pace. We chose a beer from legendary Kansas City brewery Boulevard both for the location and because the beer is a real good time. Join us Saturday.
